Affirm's merchant agreement (updated April 24, 2026) charges an MDR percentage plus a transaction fee on each captured sale; its Shopify app listing says the rate is set when the merchant signs up. If you add Affirm through Stripe, Stripe lists it at 6% + 30¢ (standard) or 7.99% + 30¢ (enhanced).
Affirm's prohibited business policy covers items such as counterfeit goods, explosives, explicit products, tobacco, e-cigarettes and vaporizers, drug paraphernalia and fund aggregation. Supplements and dropshipping are not named. Preorders and backorders must be disclosed at checkout.
Merchant fees and refunds are deducted from settlements, and settlement reports are produced daily.
Direct Affirm merchants use the Affirm Payments app on Shopify. Affirm also publishes separate Shop Pay merchant terms, and Shop Pay Installments is built into Shopify Payments for US, Canadian and UK stores. WooCommerce uses the Affirm Payments extension.
